Rainer Spielmann Joins the Managing Board of WIB

September 4, 2006 -  Rainer Spielmann (49) has been appointed to the Managing Board of Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank (WIB). He will take up his appointment on October 1, 2006. Spielmann has been in charge of internal risk steering, equity investments, balance sheet and accounting and trust business at WIB with the title of Senior Managing Director since January 2006.

Commenting on the appointment, Hubert Beckmann, Chairman of the Managing Board of Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank, said: “Rainer Spielmann is the ideal candidate to take charge of risk management at WIB. He is highly experienced in domestic and international lending business and risk management, and as such will be a strong addition to our Managing Board. I am delighted with his appointment, because his many years of experience have been crucial in the reorganisation of our Risk Management activities.” The third member of the WIB Managing Board is Claus-Jürgen Cohausz, who has primary responsibility for client relationship management in Germany and abroad.

Rainer Spielmann began his banking career in 1974. In 1979 he moved from Sparkasse Essen to a predecessor institution of WestLB AG, where he held various positions in the credit and construction finance field. In 1994 he became deputy head of the Credit Department at WestLB Paris. Following his return to Düsseldorf in 1996, he was given responsibility for counterparty risk monitoring in the Risk Management Support & Control business unit. Two years later he joined the Credit Risk Management business unit, where he was in charge of the portfolio management credit module. In 2000 he assumed the position of Head of Credit Auditing in the Group Audit business unit. In 2005 he joined Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank in Mainz as Managing Director of Risk Management.
