Mainz, 22 November 2010 - Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank AG (WestImmo) is offering this year’s Christmas charity donation of 5,000 euros to Aktion Deutschland Hilft, the national federation of aid organisations. The donation will go towards a project that helps victims of the flood disaster in Pakistan.
The donation was presented
at 5pm on Monday, 22 November 2010
in the conference room on the 5th floor of WestImmo’s offices
at Große Bleiche 46 in Mainz.
Peter Knopp, chairman of the Managing Board of WestImmo, presented the donation to Heribert Röhrig, chief executive of Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
“WestImmo is happy to support Aktion Deutschland Hilft in Pakistan, where more than 20 million people have been affected by the consequences of the catastrophic flooding. The situation in many regions is still drastic and the imminent onset of winter presents great challenges to aid organisations, particularly in the north of the country”, Peter Knopp emphasised. “We believe it to be a right and proper objective to come together in a national federation in order to help the victims of major disasters quickly, efficiently and in a way that is most appropriate to the demand.”
Aktion Deutschland Hilft was set up in 2001 by ten leading German aid organisations. The participating organisations pool their many years of experience in humanitarian assistance abroad in order to optimise the success of their work to date.
